Job summary

Howden Junior School is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team, helping pupils access the curriculum and develop emotional literacy skills. You will support individuals or small groups and assist in language, reading, numeracy and ICT as needed.

The successful candidate will work with the class teacher and SENCO to meet each pupil’s needs, encouraging independence and delivering resources to support learning. Salary £18,855.87 p.a., paid in 12 instalments.

Qualifications

• Supports pupils with emotional/behavioural difficulties to access the curriculum.
• Assists with language, literacy, numeracy and ICT as needed.
• Works with teachers to meet individual pupil needs and goals.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals or small groups of pupils.
• Assist in identified areas (language, behaviour, reading, spelling, numeracy).
• Meet physical needs while encouraging independence.
• Liaise with class teacher and SENCO about needs.
• Develop resources to support pupils.
