Job summary

Beech Hall School in Cheshire is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join the Enhanced Learning Team. You will support students with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia, helping them build confidence, independence and achieve success.

As an LSA, you will work with teachers, the SENDCo, parents and external professionals to deliver targeted support in the classroom, in small groups and one-to-one, helping students realise their full potential and thrive.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics
  • Experience supporting children or young people
  • Strong understanding of how positive relationships can help students succeed
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to motivate, encourage, and inspire students
  • Good ICT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • NVQ3 or equivalent or a number of years of relevant experience desirable
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to take such a qualification desirable
  • Understanding of the current provision for children with special educational needs and current developments in SEN desirable

Responsibilities

  • Supporting students with SEND in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
  • Acting as a key worker for identified students, helping to track progress and provide consistent support.
  • Delivering small group and one-to-one programmes as directed by the SENDCo.
  • Creating and maintaining student profiles, learning resources, and support plans.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to secure the best outcomes.
  • Supporting students' social, emotional, and pastoral development.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to review meetings where required.
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
