Job summary

Activate Learning is recruiting Learning Support Assistants for Oxford College to support students aged 16–19 with SEND across GCSE, LifeSkills and A-Levels. The role includes in-class and 1:1 support, helping learners overcome barriers and build confidence.

Training will be provided, including personal care and medication handling. The post is fixed-term until July 2027, with term-time hours and a 35, 28 or 21 hour per week pattern.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or adults with SEND (desirable)
• Patience, empathy and positive approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students
• Commitment to inclusion and safeguarding

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND
• Assist students to access the curriculum and achieve learning goals
• Support development of independence, life skills and employability
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Adapt resources to meet individual needs
• Attend and complete relevant training including personal care and medication training
