Job summary

Waterloo Lodge School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated team, supporting pupils with autism and other needs. You will help deliver a personalised curriculum, assist with behavioural programmes and build supportive relationships to enable each pupil to thrive.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• A passion for supporting children and young people to reach their potential.
• Patient, compassionate and skilled at building positive relationships.
• Positive, resilient and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Flexible and adaptable, tailoring support to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering a broad, engaging curriculum.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning.
• Assist with educational and behavioural programmes for diverse needs.
• Encourage pupil confidence, independence and positive relationships.
• Monitor and record progress, sharing feedback with the team.
• Prepare learning resources and classroom materials for lessons.
• Promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.
• Accompany pupils on educational visits and enrichment activities.
