Job summary

Stockport School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to start ASAP. The role is 31.33 hours per week during term time, with some inset days, 8.30am–4.00pm (shorter on Fridays). You will support teaching, learning and progress, including pupils with additional learning needs and EHCPs, and assist with literacy interventions and enrichment activities.

The post sits at Salary Scale 3, Points 5–6 (Actual Salary £19,140–£19,444). An NJC pay rise is expected to be added.

Qualifications

• Strong GCSEs in English and Maths (minimum grade C/4) required.
• Desirable: graduate with honours; QTS or Teaching Assistant status.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching, learning and student progress in lessons.
• Develop independent learning skills for students with additional needs.
• Assist with reading and literacy interventions and enrichment clubs.
• Supervise lunch duties and assist with school day routines.
