Job summary

Ribbons and Reeves is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a September 2026 start in Barnet. The role involves supporting two Year 9 and Year 10 students across KS3/KS4 in a specialist ARP setting, with small-group and 1:2 interventions to access learning and build confidence.

You will collaborate with teachers and SEN staff, support pupils with ASC and additional needs, and help them stay engaged and make progress. Salary is £475 PAYE per week for a 6.5-hour day.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Psychology, Education, or related discipline from a leading university.
  • Strong A-Level results, ideally A* or A in relevant subjects (desirable).
  • Previous tutoring or school-based experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted academic support across KS3 and KS4 subjects.
  • Work with two Year 9 and Year 10 students in a small-group setting, plus targeted 1:2 support.
  • Support pupils within an ARP setting, including those with ASC and additional needs.
  • Maintain firm, clear boundaries while being kind, patient, and consistent.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to support students' progress.
  • Help students develop independence, confidence and engagement with learning.
