Job summary

The Windsor Forest Colleges Group is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join the Additional Learning Support Department at Berkshire College of Agriculture Maidenhead. The role is part-time, term time only, 30 hours per week over 37 weeks per year, with a pro-rated salary on Scale G (G17 17,161.78 up to G19 18,374.68).

Qualifications

  • Level 2 qualifications (GCSE grade A-C or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia.

Job description

Learning Support Assistant - ALS - Maidenhead, Berkshire

Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our Additional Learning Support Department at our Berkshire College of Agriculture campus on a part-time, term time only basis.

The Learning Support Assistant role involves working 30 hours per week over 37 term-time weeks per year. The role pays on Scale G of the Support Staff pay scale offering a pro‑rated salary of G17 17,161.78 up to G19 18,374.68 (G17 25,483 up to G19 27,284 FTE).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning activities
  • Helping students overcome physical, emotional, or learning boundaries
  • Assisting with assignments, exam preparation, and the development of English, mathematics, and ICT skills
  • Monitoring student behaviour
  • Maintaining confidential records
  • Adapting learning materials
  • Supporting the use of specialist equipment
Essential Qualifications
  • Level 2 qualifications (GCSE grade A-C or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics
  • Relevant qualifications or experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia
Additional Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to meet the physical demands of the post, such as providing physical support for mobility‑impaired students.

Finally, the successful candidate must strictly adhere to the college's policies regarding Risk Management, Diversity and Equality, Health and Safety, Data Protection, and Safeguarding.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and Barred List check along with other legally required checks which are an essential part of the safeguarding process.
