Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our Active Department at our Berkshire College of Agriculture campus on a full time, term time only basis.
This Learning Support Assistant role involves working 37 hours per week over 37 term-time weeks per year. The role pays on Scale G of the Support Staff pay scale offering a pro-rata salary of G17 £21,166.19 up to G19 £22,662.10 (G17 £25,483 up to G19 £27,284 FTE).
Learning Support Assistants are a vital part of Windsor Forest Colleges Group which help students fully access the curriculum, achieve their learning goals, and fulfil their potential.Reporting to the Head of Department and working under the supervision of senior academic staff and lecturers, the Learning Support Assistant will support whole classes, small groups, or individual students in accordance with college policies and individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
Key responsibilities include assisting with the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning activities; helping students overcome physical, emotional, or learning boundaries; and assisting with assignments, exam preparation, and the development of English, mathematics, and ICT skills.Additionally, the role involves monitoring student behaviour, maintaining confidential records, adapting learning materials, and supporting the use of specialist equipment.
To be considered for the role, candidates must possess a positive attitude, experience working with young adults (ideally in education), and the flexibility to work across various departments or remotely online if necessary.Essential qualifications include Level 2 qualifications (GCSE grade A-C or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics, along with relevant qualifications or experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia.Applicants must demonstrate strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to meet the physical demands of the post, such as providing physical support for mobility-impaired students.Finally, the successful candidate must strictly adhere to the college's policies regarding Risk Management, Diversity and Equality, Health and Safety, Data Protection, and Safeguarding.
