Job summary

Oakfield Academy in Frome, Somerset, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning. This permanent, part-time role offers 30 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, term-time plus 5 INSET days, with pay starting at £13.05 per hour and progression to £13.26.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C (4) or above.
• Ability to work using own initiative under guidance of a teacher.
• Strong communication with children and adults.
• Ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
• Can-do attitude and commitment to pupil well-being.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners.
• Creating opportunities for learners to reach their potential.
• Working with a wide range of class teachers to deliver teaching and learning.
• Supporting pupils in interventions (Literacy & Numeracy, Forest School).
• Supporting pupils on 1:1 or group basis.
• Supporting assessment and evidencing learning.
• Creating engaging learning resources with the teacher.
• Accompanying pupils on trips.
