Willow Vale School in Somerset seeks Teaching Assistants for permanent posts across Bridgwater, Taunton and West Somerset sites. The role is 32.5 hours per week over 39 weeks per year (term time plus INSET days), with typical hours Monday to Friday and off-site support as needed.

The post requires empathy, resilience and the ability to support children with complex needs, including 1:1 and small-group work, liaising with families and working with welfare and teaching teams.

Qualifications

• Understanding of how children and young people learn.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
• Good literacy and numeracy.
• ICT skills for learning activities.

Responsabilités

• Support teaching and learning team and welfare team.
• Assist children with complex needs and provide 1:1 or small group support.
• Engage in off-site activities with educational or welfare focus.
• Liaise with parents and carers as required.
• Demonstrate empathy, resilience and problem-solving.
