Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a primary school in Burnley. The role combines 1:1 pupil support with small-group intervention, in a full-time, term-time schedule from November 2026 to July 2027, with potential to become permanent.

You will work mornings 1:1, afternoons with groups, collaborating with teachers and SEND staff to help pupils access learning and build confidence. A Level 2 or 3 TA is desirable; a patient, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
• Confident supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, flexible and proactive in approach.
• Team player with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil each morning.
• Deliver small group intervention sessions during the afternoons.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Monitor and record progress against targets.
• Work with teachers, SEND staff and parents to support pupil progress.
• Create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
