Job summary

Colten Care is seeking a Learning Support Assistant at 3 Dimensions School, Chardleigh House, part of Options Autism. The role is 40 hours per week, term-time only, with a permanent contract and a salary of £18,732 per year (actual take-home pre-tax).

You will support vulnerable children and young people, helping them access education, prepare materials, and participate in activities, with strong safeguarding in place and full training provided.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; full training provided.
• Willingness to support vulnerable children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Assist children with learning activities and small-group work.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will connect directly with the brilliant children and young people we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys.

You will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands‑on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for their emotional and physical needs, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.

Supporting children with complex Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs is important and rewarding work, and you will benefit from the tremendous support offered by our hugely experienced teams. As you help our children and young people achieve real and significant progress, you will enjoy having a direct, positive impact on their developing lives.

Who we are looking for

You don't need any experience to join our team. If you come from hospitality, the army, outdoor activity centres or an office-based job but are eager to help vulnerable children and young people to live happy, fulfilling lives, this is the role for you. We will provide you with full training and development to succeed within your role.

You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising children as they explore further afield.
