Job summary

Sutton High School, part of the GDST, is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil requiring EHCP support and to assist in the Neurodiversity Hub. The role is part-time and term-time only, starting ASAP.

A recognised TA qualification and strong communication skills are essential to join the dedicated team in a warm, inclusive environment. You will join the Senior School Neurodiversity Team and support students’ learning, social interactions, and readiness for school while

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to listen, empathise and build positive relationships with children and staff alike.
  • Experience with 1:1 support for students with communication needs or EHCPs is desirable.
  • NVQ, NNEB, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent TA qualification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for a named pupil with an EHCP for communication needs.
  • Support students in the Neurodiversity Hub with small groups and independent work.
  • Help learners develop study skills and social readiness for school.
