Are you passionate about supporting young people in achieving their full potential? A reputable secondary school in Stockport is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their support department. This inclusive school places a strong emphasis on personalised learning and offers a welcoming, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of the SENCO and class teachers to provide individual and group support across a range of subjects.

  • Support pupils with SEND, low prior attainment, or those needing emotional and behavioural guidance.

  • Assist with learning tasks in and out of the classroom to help raise engagement and attainment.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and self-esteem in students through praise and support strategies.

  • Keep accurate records of pupil progress and observations to inform staff and future planning.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant, youth mentor, care worker, or in a similar role working with young people.

  • Confidence working with a range of student needs including SEN, low literacy/numeracy, and EAL.

  • A positive, calm and flexible approach to challenges in the classroom.

  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with pupils.

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; additional qualifications in child development or education are advantageous.
