Rushcliffe Spencer Academy in West Bridgford, Nottingham is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join the Learning Support team under the leadership of the SENCO and Deputy SENCO. The role involves providing in-class support and small group interventions to help students grow academically, socially and emotionally.

Responsibilities

• Providing in-class support and small group interventions for students to help them grow academically, socially and emotionally.
• Creating a calm and purposeful learning environment to enable progress and well-being.
• Maintaining strong communication and professional relationships with students, staff and families, as well as with external agencies.
• Upholding high expectations for all students in line with the school ethos that every pupil can shine.
• Contributing to reviewing student progress and setting targets to support development of learners with additional needs.

Job description

Full Time (37 hours a week), Term Time only, Temporary (up to 1 year potentially)

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant who will be a member of our Learning Support team, under the leadership and supervision of the SENCO and Deputy SENCO.

The role involves providing in-class support and small group interventions for young people, creating a calm and purposeful learning environment to allow students to grow academically, socially and emotionally. Strong communication and professional relationships are essential with students, staff and families, as well as external agencies. We are looking for someone with high expectations for all students, in line with the school ethos of allowing all students to shine brightly.

The successful candidate will form an integral part of the reviewing student progress and setting targets to support development of young people. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to lives of children, particularly those with additional needs.
