Job summary

Rushcliffe Spencer Academy in West Bridgford, Nottingham is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our Learning Support team. You will provide in-class support and run small group interventions to help students grow academically, socially and emotionally.

Under the guidance of the SENCO and Deputy SENCO, you will build strong relationships with students, staff and families, and support progress reviews to promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with diverse needs in a classroom setting.
• Ability to monitor progress and adapt support to individual learning plans.
• Excellent communication with students, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support to pupils during lessons.
• Conduct targeted small-group interventions to boost attainment.
• Contribute to reviews of student progress and target setting.

Full Time (37 hours a week), Term Time only, Temporary (up to 1 year potentially)

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant who will be a member of our Learning Support team, under the leadership and supervision of the SENCO and Deputy SENCO.

The role involves providing in-class support and small group interventions for young people, creating a calm and purposeful learning environment to allow students to grow academically, socially and emotionally. Strong communication and professional relationships are essential with students, staff and families, as well as external agencies. We are looking for someone with high expectations for all students, in line with the school ethos of allowing all students to shine brightly.

The successful candidate will form an integral part of the reviewing student progress and setting targets to support development of young people. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to lives of children, particularly those with additional needs.
