GSL Education are inviting applications for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) role in Southampton, ideal for those passionate about inclusive education and keen to support young learners in mainstream primary schools. Whether you're ready to start immediately or after the summer, this full-time, permanent role offers a meaningful path into the education sector.

In this vital classroom-based role, you will provide targeted support to children within a mainstream primary school, helping pupils achieve their learning goals and feel confident in the classroom. Working under the guidance of class teachers and SENCOs, you’ll contribute to a nurturing and engaging environment for all learners.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide classroom support across a range of subjects and learning activities.
• Assist with small group work and 1:1 support for pupils who may require additional guidance.
• Promote inclusion and help foster a positive learning atmosphere.
• Aid in classroom preparation and behaviour management as directed by teaching staff.
• Liaise with teachers and other staff to monitor pupil progress and development.
• Encourage pupils’ personal development, confidence, and independence.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience in a Learning Support, Teaching Assistant, or similar role.
• Understanding of learning difficulties and SEN needs, including Speech and Language Delays, Autism, and ADHD.
• Individuals with experience supporting children in educational or care settings
• Uni students are encouraged to apply.
• Enthusiastic candidates eager to contribute to pupils’ development and wellbeing.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
