Job summary

OneSchool Global UK Ridgeway Campus is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to help students with SEND access learning and reach their potential. You will work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and other staff to deliver tailored academic, emotional and behavioural support across the campus.

You will support individual pupils and small groups, promote independence and resilience, and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with children, ideally within an educational or SEND environment.
• Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and inclusive education principles.
• Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, organized and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEND across a range of subjects and age groups.
• Provide targeted academic, emotional and behavioural support.
• Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and learning resources.
• Encourage positive social interactions and help students build independence.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and wider school staff to provide tailored support that enables students to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their potential.

You will support individual students and small groups, helping to create positive learning experiences while promoting independence, resilience and engagement. The role offers variety, challenge and reward, with opportunities to contribute to the wider life of the school and further develop your skills through ongoing professional development.

What You'll Be Doing

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting students with SEND across a range of subjects and age groups.
• Providing targeted academic, emotional and behavioural support.
• Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and learning resources.
• Encouraging positive social interactions and helping students build confidence and independence.
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers.
• Supporting students during independent and group learning activities.
• Assisting with SEND reviews, record keeping and curriculum delivery.
• Maintaining a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
• Contributing positively to the wider life of the campus and participating in staff development activities.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about supporting children and young people to succeed.
• Experienced in working with children, ideally within an educational or SEND environment.
• Knowledgeable about Special Educational Needs and the principles of inclusive education.
• A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
• Organised, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Patient, adaptable and committed to providing outstanding student support.
• Comfortable using technology to support learning.
• Committed to safeguarding, wellbeing and promoting positive outcomes for young people.

It would be great if you have

• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant.
• At least three years' experience supporting children's learning.
• An NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and/or a willingness to continue professional development.
• Experience supporting students with SEND within a school setting.
