Job summary

Newfriars College is seeking motivated Learning Support Assistants to join the college learner support team. The role involves helping young people with a range of disabilities, providing in-class support, and assisting with personal care needs when required.

The successful candidate will work with a dedicated team across term time plus 5 inset days, with part-time hours and flexible across up to 3 days per week. DBS checks and safeguarding form part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications

  • Experience of supporting learners with SEN/ SEND desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop best practices.
  • Comfortable with a varied environment in college and community settings.

Responsibilities

  • Support learners with personal and physical care needs as required.
  • Provide in-class support to enable participation in activities.
  • Assist with community-based activities and transit/wheelchair support.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and deliver inclusive lessons.
