Job summary

George Spencer Academy in Nottingham seeks a Learning and Progress Assistant to join a multi-disciplinary team. The role focuses on supporting students with SEND through individualised interventions and whole-class work to improve academic and social development.

The postholder will work with teachers to maximise achievement, assist with classroom management, and provide general care and welfare to students while contributing to the academy’s ethos and inclusive aims.

Qualifications

• Support the learning of students with SEND in liaison with class teachers.
• Assist with classroom management and student learning and behaviour.
• Provide care and welfare to students.
• Support the school ethos, aims and inclusive culture.
• Help coordinate provision for assigned students as keyworker.
• Deliver necessary interventions as needed.

Job description

The Inclusion Faculty at George Spencer Academy is highly regarded. The faculty is based in the Learning and Inclusion centre which opened in 2012. We are looking for staff who want to support in taking the faculty forward and are passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people.

The Learning and Progress Assistant will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the postholder will provide support to students with SEND. This will involve individualised interventions and whole class work in order to support students with their academic and social development

The nature of the academy year requires some of these tasks to be done regularly whilst others will be on an annual cycle.
