Job description

Job Overview

Norwich High School is looking for a committed Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated learning support to students with learning difficulties and disabilities in our Senior School.

In this role, you will primarily support the learning and development of a Year 10 student with an Education and Health Care Plan. You will provide in-class support, working closely with teachers and the SENDCo to implement and adapt learning programmes and resources to meet the student's needs. Additionally, you will deliver literacy, numeracy, and life skills sessions on a 1:1 basis.

Candidates should have proven experience supporting children in a learning environment or educational setting. A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., NVQ, NNEB, City & Guilds, or BTEC) is desirable but not essential. Strong listening and communication skills, along with empathy towards children’s needs, are crucial.

This is a part-time role, 24 hours per week, term-time only (plus 5 days during school holidays). The position is on a fixed-term contract until July 2026, subject to renewal based on council funding.
