Are you passionate about supporting young people in their education and personal development? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Newport is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. Whether you're working one-to-one with a pupil or supporting small groups, you’ll play a key role in helping students stay engaged, build confidence, and achieve their academic and personal goals.
Competitive Daily Pay: £89.83 - £94 per day, depending on experience

Potential for a Permanent Role: The school is seeking a long-term team member, with permanent opportunities for the right candidate
Supporting students with additional learning needs both one-to-one and in small groups
Helping to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans
Encouraging positive engagement in lessons and helping students develop social and emotional skills
Working closely with teaching staff to maintain a focused and inclusive classroom environment
Providing practical support with classroom activities and helping students stay on task
Experience: Previous experience in a secondary school setting or in a learning support role is highly desirable
Skills: Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Personal Qualities: Friendly, empathetic, patient, and proactive
Behaviour Support: Experience with de-escalation techniques or working with students with challenging behaviour is a bonus
Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
