About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students across a range of subjects. A key focus of the role will be supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN and SEMH needs
Assist in the delivery of personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies
Help create an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment
Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCo
Foster positive relationships with students to support their emotional and academic development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or educational setting
A solid understanding of SEN and SEMH and the strategies that support student engagement and progress
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A calm, patient and nurturing approach to supporting students
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Desirable but not essential:
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, Teaching Assistant Certificate)
Team Teach or similar training
