Job summary

MACCLESFIELD COLLEGE is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide direct support for learners requiring additional assistance. You'll help implement learning strategies and ensure students can engage fully with the college environment.

The position involves working on a one-to-one or group basis, assisting with personal care and mobility needs, while fostering a supportive atmosphere for students. Join a collaborative team dedicated to making a positive impact in learners' lives.

• Enabling learners with additional learning support needs to have the same opportunities for success as other learners, providing a supportive link between the learners and their course.

Main Duties for this role include

• Provide direct in-class and out of class support to help learners to access the curriculum and the college environment.
• Implement strategies, risk assessments, PEEPs and other support arrangements as outlined in the learner's support plan and explained by the Learning Support Co-ordinators and Inclusive Learning Advisors.
• Work flexibly on either a one-to-one basis or group basis supporting learners with additional support needs as guided by the Learning Support Co-ordinators.
• Provide meet and greet, break and lunch support as required for individual learner needs.
• Provide practical and personal care for learners as required.
• Support learners with mobility needs to access all aspects of the campus. Assist students in accessing general college facilities, for example the toilets, refectory, shop and the library, at break and lunch times.

Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Disclosure, Right to Work evidence and original qualification certificates. Online checks will be carried out and a minimum of two professional referees to cover a five-year period.
