Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Birkenhead. This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced LSA to help pupils achieve their full potential, academically and personally.

You will work closely with teaching staff and the school’s support teams, providing targeted help across the secondary phase and supporting SEND pupils to access learning and develop social, emotional and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting.
• Confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Patient, caring and able to build strong relationships with secondary-aged pupils.
• Understanding of SEND, behaviour management and inclusive education.
• Reliable, professional and committed to supporting pupil progress.
• Able to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across the secondary school.
• Support pupils with their learning and help them access the curriculum effectively.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver targeted interventions and additional learning activities.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, promoting confidence and independence.
• Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs where required.
• Encourage positive behaviour and contribute towards an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

About the Role
