Full-Time Teaching Assistant – SEMH Focus – Near Hythe
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £80–£90 per day
Contract: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We're seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school team near Hythe. This full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives on building strong, nurturing relationships with children and who understands how interventions like Thrive and Zones of Regulation can help children manage their emotions and flourish both academically and personally.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Deliver interventions such as Thrive and Zones of Regulation to help regulate emotions and promote positive behaviour
  • Assist with academic tasks including reading, writing, and maths
  • Monitor and track pupil progress
  • Encourage social development and support the building of confidence and self-esteem
  • Help maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEMH needs
  • Is familiar with or trained in Thrive, Zones of Regulation, or similar frameworks
  • Is resilient, patient, and nurturing
  • Can build positive and trusting relationships with children and staff
  • Has a good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Is enthusiastic about making a lasting impact on children’s lives
