Job summary

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive school community in Godalming. Working closely with teachers and specialist staff, you will help create a supportive learning environment that enables pupils with diverse needs to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group assistance to pupils across key stages, reinforcing classroom instruction and adapting activities as required.
• Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies.
• Aid in the preparation of learning resources, ensuring accessibility and relevance.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, communicating observations to teachers and parents.
• Foster positive relationships, encouraging independence, confidence, and social integration.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and maintain a safe, respectful classroom atmosphere.

Essential Criteria

• Experience supporting children with SEND (or a strong commitment to developing this expertise).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Relevant Level 2 or higher qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable.
• Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
