Job Introduction

Learning Support Assistant Required at Holy Trinity C of E Junior School

Holy Trinity CE Junior School is a three form entry Church of England School. In June 2023 Ofsted said: "Leaders have created a caring school ethos which everyone at Holy Trinity values and understanding. Acting with integrity, treating others with dignity and growing in confidence are at the heart of everything the school has to offer. Pupils enjoy coming to school. They said there were many things they liked about it, from seeing their friends and teachers to their enjoyable lessons where they learn new things. Pupils were especially keen to explain that teachers are very respectful, helpful and kind"

Learning Support Assistants work 1:1 (or sometimes with small groups, according to defined needs) to support children with Educational Health Care Plans to meet their targets. LSAs work within the direction of the class teacher to support children and must be flexible, creative, resilient and a team player. A knowledge of ASD or trauma would be of benefit, but training will be provided.

The successful candidates will have:
  • Enthusiasm and a determination to make a difference to pupil progress and behaviour
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as using his/her own initiative
  • Good English, Maths and IT skills
  • High expectations of themselves and the children they work with including promoting independence where possible
  • An ability to work with parents

As a member of our team, you will be actively involved in helping to create and promote inspirational learning opportunities for our children.

We can offer:
  • Welcoming and hardworking colleagues
  • A positive and friendly atmosphere for children to enjoy their learning

  • A commitment to your personal development

This is a pupil-specific fixed-term role linked directly to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) funding. The position is fixed until 31st July 2027; however, please note that should the pupil leave the school or should the EHCP funding cease prior to this date, this contract will terminate with standard notice.

We reserve the right to interview candidates before the 21st September 2026.
