As a Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with varying learning needs.
Assisting teachers in creating and delivering tailored lessons that meet individual education plans (IEPs).
Supporting students’ emotional, behavioural, and academic progress throughout the day.
Encouraging student independence while maintaining a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Collaborating closely with SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral staff to ensure consistency in student support.
Helping maintain accurate records of progress and communicating effectively with parents and staff.
Promoting positive reinforcement and confidence in students, making you a vital part of their daily success.
To be successful as a Learning Support Assistant, you should have:
Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role supporting students with special educational needs.
A patient, compassionate, and empathetic approach to education.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
A flexible and proactive mindset with a commitment to fostering student development.
An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
A supportive and inclusive school environment committed to your professional development.
Potential for contract extension or a permanent position.
Regular CPD opportunities to enhance your skills as a Learning Support Assistant.
