Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a welcoming secondary school in Chesterfield, starting September. You will support secondary students with mild SEND in the classroom and work alongside teaching staff to help students access learning.

The role is full-time and permanent, offering CPD opportunities and a supportive team environment.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming secondary school in Chesterfield that is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant. The school provides a supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop their confidence, independence and academic skills.

The school is looking to take on a Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support secondary-aged students with mild SEND, working alongside teaching staff to provide classroom support, encourage engagement and help students access learning effectively.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Relevant qualification in education, childcare or supporting teaching and learning desirable
• Experience working with secondary-aged students
• Experience supporting children or young people with mild SEND
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient and positive approach
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
