Job summary

Grwp Llandrillo Menai is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for the Dolgellau campus on a term-time, temporary basis. This role supports the Independent Living programme, helping learners develop life and work skills such as cooking, literacy, numeracy and IT.

The successful candidate will work with lecturers in classrooms to maximise learning and may assist during breaks with practical tasks. 26 hours per week, term-time.

Within the Independent Living programme areas, the successful person will need to be enthusiastic and flexible to support the learners within a range of life and work skills such as e.g. cooking, everyday living skills, gardening, literacy, numeracy, IT, citizenship, personal and social development and work skills at Pre Entry - level 1.

There may be a need to support learners with practical and physical difficulties during breaks times if and when required.

Holiday Entitlement

There will be an entitlement to pro rata paid holiday in each academic year (1st September to 31st August), which includes pro-rata entitlement of 8 Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in Wales and a pro-rata entitlement of up to 5 efficiency days (please note this can change annually). Annual leave is derived from a pro rata full time equivalent entitlement of 28 days which is included in the hourly rate paid.
