Job summary

Paxman Academy in Colchester is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support students with SEND and help them access numeracy and literacy activities. The role runs 32.5 hours per week across term-time plus INSET days, with an 8:30am-3:30pm pattern.

You will work with individuals or small groups, in collaboration with teaching staff, promoting positive behaviour and developing independent learners. A positive, proactive approach and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

• Contract Type: Permanent
• Start Date: ASAP following pre-employment checks
• Hours/Weeks: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus non-pupil/INSET days)
• Working Pattern: 8:30am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday.

A Day in the Life:

You'll be responsible for bringing your passion and expertise to the following areas:

• Proactively supporting students with activities designed to enhance numeracy and literacy
• Supporting SEN students in gaining the ability to utilise IT in the classroom
• Promoting positive behaviour, raising esteem and encouraging an aspirational culture
• Working with individuals or small groups of children in collaboration with teaching staff
• Working with SEN students to foster their development as independent learners.
