Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a school in Bury St Edmunds from October 2026. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs, adapting activities to meet individual needs and supporting engagement, confidence and behaviour.

You will work closely with teachers and school staff to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment and help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Qualifications

• Patient, positive and adaptable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with pupils with additional needs preferred but not required.
• Enhanced DBS check and suitable references.

About the role £465–£550 per week | October 2026 Start Based in Bury St Edmunds Are you passionate about helping young people with additional needs thrive? Vision for Education is looking for a caring, confident and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive school from October 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils who benefit from additional support with their learning and development.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
• Adapt activities and learning materials to meet individual needs
• Support pupils with their engagement, confidence and behaviour
• Work closely with teachers and other school staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Is patient, positive and adaptable
• Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Can confidently support pupils with a range of needs and behaviours
• Is passionate about helping young people reach their potential
• Has previous SEND experience – desirable, but not essential
• Can provide suitable references and complete an Enhanced DBS check
