Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Bishop Auckland area is seeking Learning Support Assistants to start ASAP. Long-term and day-to-day placements offer daily rates paid weekly via PAYE and the chance to make a real difference in pupils’ progress.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to students.
• Run small group catch-up sessions in literacy, numeracy or study skills.

• Assist teachers with in-class tasks and keep students on track.
• Build relationships with students over time.
• Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to ensure consistent support.

Learning Support Assistant

Long-term and day to day, daily rates, available now

If you want work where you can see the difference you make, this is it. Schools in the Bishop Auckland area are looking for Learning Support Assistants to start straight away. You’d be the person a student turns to when something isn’t clicking, and the reason a lesson goes well for a young person who would otherwise struggle.

No two days are the same, but you can expect a mix of:

• One to one support, sitting alongside a student who needs extra help to follow the lesson, stay focused or build confidence
• Small group work, running catch-up sessions in literacy, numeracy or study skills for students who need a bit more time
• Supporting students with SEND, including autism, ADHD and learning difficulties, so they can access the same curriculum as everyone else
• In-class support, helping teachers adapt tasks and keep students on track
• Building relationships with students over time, which is often what makes the biggest difference
• Working with teachers and the SENCO so everyone is giving the same support

Long-term placements mean you get to know your students and watch them progress. Day to day bookings are available if you want more flexibility. It also suits graduates thinking about teaching or SEND as a career, because you’ll learn more here than in any course.
