We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Sayes Court Primary School, part of Bourne Education Trust.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for responsible for providing highly effective, targeted provision and care to pupils, in support of and under the guidance of Teachers and Senior Leaders, in order to raise standards of achievement for pupils to become independent learners. Ensuring the effective support of pupil welfare and the inclusion of all pupils in all aspects of school life in line with school and Trust policies, promoting the ethos and the values of the school and Bourne Education Trust.

This role will predominately be based in our Nursery.

Details

Position: Learning Support Assistant

Contract: Part time, fixed term contract (until 31 August 2026)

Hours: 33 hours per week (Mon-Fri 8:30am - 3:30pm, with a requirement to attend training until 4.45pm on Wednesdays and team briefing on Tuesdays from 8.20am. There is also a requirement to run an after-school club until 4.15pm one day a week.

Salary: Surrey Pay Scale 3 (£23,576 FTE, actual salary £17,507)

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils
  • Under the guidance of the responsible Teacher, facilitate the learning of individual pupils and groups, setting high expectations and promoting positive attitudes to learning
  • To understand and follow teaching plans in order to support pupil development and to scaffold learning as appropriate
  • To support with the preparation of learning materials as required

Essential

Requirements include:

  • Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification)
  • Ability to evidence effective continuous professional development

Desirable

  • Relevant experience of working with children in an education setting
