Job summary

Macmillan Academy in Middlesbrough is seeking Learning Mentors to support students identified as having special educational needs and disabilities. The role involves assisting in lessons and one-to-one work across all year groups under the SENDCo, with a focus on inclusive learning.

Applicants should have A Level qualifications with GCSE English and maths, and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. This position is 30 hours per week, term-time only plus 5 training days.

Qualifications

  • Must have qualifications to at least A Level with GCSE in English and maths.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Experience of working with students with SEND at secondary school level is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with students in lessons and on an individual basis across all year groups as directed by the SENDCo.
  • Support learning and provide cover supervision as needed.
  • Contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
