Job summary

Carshalton College, part of the South Thames Colleges Group, is seeking a Learning Mentor to support and mentor learners with mental health or medical conditions, disabilities, or learning difficulties, helping them access the curriculum and complete their course. This role suits someone with experience working with young people in a mentoring capacity and with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A minimum Level 2 English/Literacy and Level 1 Maths qualification are required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people in a mentoring/support role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of support needs of learners with mental health, disability or learning difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Mentor learners with mental health or medical conditions, disabilities or learning difficulties to access the curriculum and complete courses.
• Provide individual and small‑group support and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with college staff to enable successful learning and progression.
