Learning Mentor – South Shields (SEMH Focus)

Start: January
Contract: Full time, long term

A nurturing alternative provision in South Shields is looking for a Learning Mentor who can help pupils re-engage with education and develop confidence in a small, supportive environment. You’ll be the steady adult pupils can rely on throughout the day.

Your role will include:
  • 1:1 and small-group mentoring
  • Helping pupils develop social skills, confidence and self-regulation
  • Supporting behaviour plans and wellbeing strategies
  • Working closely with staff to personalise learning for each pupil
You’ll bring:
  • Experience in SEMH, behaviour, youth work or mentoring
  • A positive, empathetic approach
  • Strong relationship-building skills and patience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
