Job summary

Connex Education in Bristol is currently recruiting Learning Facilitators to support children and young people with SEND/SEMH. You’ll work across Key Stages 1 to 3 in both day-to-day supply and longer placements, helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

This role offers flexible hours, competitive daily pay via PAYE, and access to funded CPD and qualifications. A dedicated SEND specialist consultant supports you, with opportunities across Bristol’s specialist settings.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in education, care or youth settings.
  • Patience, resilience and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Calm and positive in challenging situations.
  • Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging, personalised learning activities.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour through consistent support.
  • Adapt approach to meet autism, SEMH, communication needs and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can succeed.
  • Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes and enrichment activities where required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals to provide the best possible outcomes for each child.

£100 – £120 per day (dependent on experience and assignment)

About the Role

As a Learning Facilitator, you will:

About You

We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people, particularly those with SEND, either in education, care or youth work settings.
  • Are patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Can remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
  • Are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
