Optalis Limited is recruiting Learning Disability Support Workers to join our Maidenhead teams. The role involves supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and other disabilities in their daily lives, in community-based settings and at local services.

Roles vary by location and include full-time, part-time and fixed-term contracts. A UK driving licence is required for roles marked with (D) to enable transportation of people we support.

Qualifikationen

• Experience of working with people with learning disabilities or autism.
• Experience of working in a residential care setting and supporting with daily living tasks.
• Willingness to undertake Care Certificate and ongoing training.

Learning Disability Support Worker - Maidenhead

Our teams provide individualised care and support for people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with physical disabilities living in their community. We recognise that each person has unique interests, needs and preferences, and we support people to be as self-sufficient as possible, working closely with them and their support networks to help them reach their goals.

• Courthouse South - Boyn Hill (37 hours, days and sleep-ins - perm) (D)
• Foxdown Paley Street (up to 37 hours, days - perm) (D)
• Lady Elizabeth House Boyn Hill (14 hours - fixed term)
• Paddocks Woodford Park (part-time, days and sleep-ins - fixed term)
• Tithe Barn South Bray (37 hours, days - fixed term contract) (D)

All Fixed Term Contracts are 12 months - permanent and alternate roles will be reviewed toward end of contract.

Roles marked as (D) have driving responsibilities, including using our vehicles to transport people we support - a valid UK driving licence is required for these positions.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to support our people in their day-to-day lives and could include assistance with personal care, managing medication, meal preparation and shopping, and supporting with emotional and physical wellbeing.

We also provide support with life skills such as improving confidence, managing finances and being part of the local community to maintain important relationships.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

• Provide care and support to people in accordance to care plans
• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the people we support

• Support people to get out and about - appointments, shopping and socialising
• Reporting changes in health and behaviour

Full training will be provided for these roles - this will include a 7-day induction at our Head Office in Wokingham, online learning and shadowing established staff members.

Job responsibilities

To contribute to the overall running of the service, supporting the seniors and management to ensure CQC compliance.

To provide support that is safe, person centred and respects all human rights of the people living within the Independent Living Services.

This role involves supporting the people living within the Independent Living Services with all aspects of their daily routines to ensure that they are able to live the lives they want to.

You will collaborate with the people we support, families, carers and other professionals to provide a consistent and coordinated service which maximises outcomes for the people living at the Independent Living Services.

You will have a responsibility to document all work undertaken and contribute to residents reviews.

• Experience of working with people with learning disabilities

• Willingness to undertake Care Certificate
• Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle

Entitlement To Work

• Must hold entitlement to work - either as a British national or a valid work visa with at least 12 months remaining.
