Job summary

Guild Care provides Learning Disability services in Worthing, including the Methold House and Treetops Hub, offering personalised support and engaging activities for adults with learning disabilities.

As a Support Worker, you will be at the heart of our mission, building trust, encouraging independence, and helping people live life to the full across day services, with comprehensive training and ongoing development.

About Guild Care

At Guild Care, we're proud to offer fantastic Learning Disability (LD) services that enable adults to live happy, fulfilling lives. Our services are at Methold House, Treetops Hub are our adult services and we have two day centres that you will be working across;

Services we provide

• Adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (non verbal), offering personalised support, therapies, and activities that promote independence and wellbeing.
• A vibrant, activity-based day service where adults with learning disabilities can develop new skills, make friends, and enjoy creative, social, and recreational opportunities.

Role Summary

As a Support Worker, you need to be resilient as you'll be at the heart of our mission, providing dedicated 1-to-1 support and befriending to individuals with learning disabilities. This role requires you to be physically fit as manual handling is involved and some of our adults have heavy wheelchairs. This may include offering personal care, but more importantly, it's about building trust, encouraging independence, and helping people live life to the fullest. Desired criteria

• Knowledge and understanding of the needs of adults and children with learning and physical disabilities, complex health needs, and autism, and their carers.
• Experience of enabling people to engage in a wide range of activities within a day service setting and the local community
• Relevant professional Qualification (EG NVQ, QCF), Communication
