Job summary

Marva Group is seeking a Learning Disability Support Worker to assist young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour in the community. This role focuses on building independence and delivering person-centred care within community settings.

The position offers PMVA-supported de-escalation, daily living skills coaching, and close collaboration with families and MDTs to achieve positive outcomes, with competitive hourly pay and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
• PMVA training.
• Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
• Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition.
• Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Eligibility to work in the UK (Right to Work documentation required).
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults).
• First Aid training or equivalent (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent, person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.
• Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
• Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
• Applying PMVA techniques and de-escalation strategies to safely manage challenging behaviours.
• Maintaining accurate and professional digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.
• Collaborating with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure positive outcomes.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this Learning Disability Support Worker role, you must have:

• Current First Aid training.

Salary

£14.50 - £16.00 per hour
