Job summary

SeeMeHired.com is seeking a Learning Disability Support Worker to assist young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in home and community settings. You will provide person-centred support, plan engaging activities to build independence, and help with daily living skills under supervision.

The role requires resilience, patience, and a compassionate approach. NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 and PMVA training are preferred, with driving licence and UK work eligibility essential.

Qualifications

  • At least 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
  • PMVA training.
  • Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
  • Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition.
  • Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (Right to Work documentation).
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults).
  • First Aid training or equivalent (Desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Providing consistent, person‑centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.
  • Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
  • Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
  • Applying PMVA techniques and de‑escalation strategies to safely manage challenging situations.
  • Maintaining accurate and professional digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.
  • Collaborating with families, carers, and multi‑disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure positive outcomes.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this Learning Disability Support Worker role, you must have:

  • At least 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
