Job summary

Service Care is actively seeking a Learning Disability Support Worker in Hull (HU1) to provide person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and the community.

You will work within enhanced staffing arrangements (1:1 to 5:1) and use de-escalation techniques to keep people safe, calm and respected. A full UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities in home/supported living.
• Experience managing behaviours that challenge and/or physical aggression.
• Current PMVA or recognised physical intervention training.
• Experience with care plans, risk assessments and behavioural support strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities in homes and community.
• Support individuals with challenging behaviours including aggression and dysregulation.
• Recognise triggers and use de-escalation techniques to prevent incidents.
• Maintain calm, professional conduct during challenging situations.
• Follow care plans, risk assessments and PBS plans.
• Support daily living skills, personal care, meals, routines and community activities.
• Maintain accurate digital care records and incident reports.
• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
