The Services offered at Burgess Hill (Acute & PICU) are aimed at supporting stabilisation and recovery and affords the opportunity to offer a variety of Therapeutic Interventions aimed at developing coping strategies within one hospital environment.

The expertise provided enable us to support patients with a high level of risk and challenging behaviours including individuals with risk of violence and aggression, harm to self and trauma alongside people who may require a period of stabilisation transitioning from high dependency care or acute cate, depending on diagnosis.

Our clinical programmes focus on:

• Working collaboratively with the discharge teams to ensure a smooth transition to further support, into existing community services, or to an individual's home were possible.
• Restore and maintain our patients' quality of life by providing the therapeutic approaches and coping strategies that are most appropriate.
• Building skills to increase independence to promote people stepping down to care in the least restrictive setting, appropriate to their health needs.
• Substance misuse and addictions treatment support.
