Job summary

Learn and grow as a Learning Disabilities Support Worker with ECL in Basildon. You will join a dedicated team delivering personalised plans to support individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism, focusing on independence, social inclusion and improved quality of life.

This permanent, part-time role offers practical and emotional support to help clients achieve their goals. Travel across Essex for training and community work is required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised plan to support individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • Provide practical, emotional and social support to help achieve outcomes (qualifications, independence, social inclusion).
  • Assist with daily living tasks and personal care as required.
  • Travel across Essex to attend training and work at other centres and in the community.

About The Role

Salary: £12.91 per hour

Location: Basildon

Hours: Part time, 25 hours per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6 hours, Friday 7 hours)

Contract: Permanent

Full driving licence and own vehicle preferred due to travel in the local community.

As a Learning Disabilities Support Worker, you will join a dedicated team to deliver a personalised plan to support individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism, providing a holistic service that focuses on fostering independence and self-esteem, promoting social inclusion, and enhancing quality of life for everyone who comes through our doors.

You’ll be providing practical, emotional and social support to customers to help achieve their desired outcomes, from gaining qualifications, learning to manage money, travelling independently or building social skills. You will also support individuals with daily living tasks, personal care, and eating and drinking.

To be considered as a Learning Disabilities Support Worker, you need:
  • To be passionate about providing a high level of care and support to adults with learning disabilities and/or autism
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills
  • To possess an empathetic approach
  • To be willing to provide personal care
  • Basic IT skills for logging customer information
  • A proactive approach to work and be able to work on your own initiative
  • To be able to work flexibly depending on the needs of the work environment
  • To live by ECL's values of caring, excellence, integrity, and teamwork
  • Full driving licence and own vehicle required

Previous experience in the care industry is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

Travel required across Essex to attend training, work at other centres, and in the community.
