Job summary

Pulse Healthcare invites an experienced Psychologist to join a specialist LD and autism MDT in Dundee. The part-time locum role (3 days per week) focuses on learning disabilities, complex presentations and trauma-informed care, with supportive multidisciplinary teamwork.

You will conduct assessments, develop formulations and interventions for adults with learning disabilities, and contribute to care planning, risk management and reports within a hospital or inpatient setting.

Qualifications

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist is required.
  • Experience working with learning disabilities is essential.
  • Experience with complex presentations and/or autistic spectrum disorder is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder.
  • Work with individuals presenting with complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
  • Contribute to care planning and risk management using evidence-based approaches.
  • Work collaboratively within a full MDT including psychiatry, nursing and therapy colleagues.
  • Support positive behaviour support planning and trauma-informed care.
  • Contribute to reports, reviews and clinical discussions, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Autonomy to shape your clinical input while being supported by an experienced team.

This is a part-time locum opportunity (3 days per week) within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, offering excellent clinical exposure and flexible working.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential / Minimum:

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Experience working with learning disabilities
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex presentations and/or autistic spectrum disorder
Desirable (but Not Essential)
  • Inpatient or high-dependency setting experience
  • Experience with positive behaviour support or trauma-informed approaches
