Job summary

Park Aspire AP Academy is seeking a Learning and Behaviour Assistant to support KS1–KS3 pupils with complex needs in a nurturing environment. The role focuses on behaviour management, relationship-building with pupils, and applying specialist strategies to aid learning.

The successful candidate will work with SEND/SEMH pupils, collaborate with external partners, and contribute to safeguarding and holistic pupil support. Prior experience and sensitivity to challenging behaviours are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting KS1, KS2 and KS3 pupils with SEND/SEMH.
• Ability to cope with complex emotional, social and behavioural needs.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective behaviour management to pupils within the school.
• Act as a role model, establishing productive relationships with pupils.
• Use specialist learning skills and training to support pupils.
• Understand child development and learning processes.
• Relate well to pupils and adults across the school community.
• Support pupils with SEN/SEMH needs.
• Demonstrate empathy and discretion when dealing with challenging situations.
