Position: Learning and Development Officer (Operations Staff and Apprenticeships)

Reports to: Learning and Development Operations Lead

Location: Hybrid working in West London Office

Contract: Permanent

Pattern: Full Time (9am – 5.30pm)

Closing date: 27/05/2025

Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role

The Learning and Development Officer will ensure the smooth delivery of Ark Learning Institute’s programmes, focusing on operations staff and apprenticeships. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and delivering face-to-face and virtual learning events, acting as a liaison with external providers and participants. You will monitor engagement, ensure quality, and support initiatives like needs analysis and training design, including e-learning. The role offers personalized development and funded professional qualifications.

This position reports to the Learning and Development Operations Lead and is part of the ALI Delivery Team. It is a hybrid, full-time role based in West London, with in-person interviews scheduled for the week commencing 2nd June.

ALI is the center of excellence for professional development within Ark Schools, supporting over 4,000 staff through innovative programs including Teacher Training, leadership development, tailored learning for operational staff and apprentices, and strategic partnerships. Key Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with school operations/HR leads to support apprenticeship learning solutions.
  • Identify new partnership opportunities aligned with strategic goals.
  • Ensure program quality and compliance, especially for apprenticeships.
  • Manage administrative functions for the Digital Apprenticeship Service.
  • Gather and analyze participant feedback to improve programs.
  • Monitor apprenticeship progress and support retention.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions and events.
  • Manage logistics for Network-wide Operations Training Days (3/year, 1000+ attendees).
  • Develop communication plans for learning initiatives.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for delegates and partners.
  • Assist in designing and producing training materials.
  • Process data for dashboards and compliance trackers.
  • Conduct training needs analysis through surveys and stakeholder interviews.
Key Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to travel across London, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Hastings.
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable: professional qualification in project management, HR, or L&D.
  • Experience in project management, event planning, or learning & development.
  • Experience engaging internal audiences and marketing training offers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and partners.
  • Experience with digital platforms like Zoom, MS Teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and collaborative.
