Job summary

Scottish Swimming in Dunfermline seeks an energetic instructor to deliver Learn to Swim sessions for children and adults, following the SASA framework. You will assess progress, adapt teaching to abilities and promote the LT Swim programme within the community.

PVG clearance is required, with a commitment to achieving UKCC Level 2 and ongoing CPD. The role emphasises health and safety, and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within FSLT.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 1 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics with commitment to qualify to UKCC Level 2/ASA within timescale.
• First Aid Qualification.
• Child Protection Training.
• Applications welcomed from candidates who have undertaken SSTQ.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fun and innovative swimming lessons to children and adults of all abilities, in line with SASA Learn to Swim.
• Observe, analyse and record progress using continuous assessment along LTAD pathways.
• Promote the Learn to Swim programme and provide information on alternatives.
• Engage in CPD and additional training under FSLT development scheme.
• Operate in line with FSLT guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Observe health and safety procedures for vulnerable groups.
